matrimoany:

this is why we don’t have rights

Actually, it’s probably because society sees one gay archetype, negatively stigmatizes it, and assigns those behaviors and characteristics to all gay people. Oh and then there’s always the fun infighting where some gay people think they’re better than other gay people because they aren’t the “BAD kind of gay” (god forbid).Go fuck a beartrap.

Okay, so I was looking at this site trying to find a shirt I might like and happened across this one on this site. I’m horrified. I don’t know what to do, and I doubt one person saying anything will help. So I’m asking other people to maybe help out too. This is transmisogyny for PROFIT. Please don’t ignore this like everything else I post.

This is absolutely disgusting.

This is awful…

If I saw someone wearing this I would literally go up to them, grab them by the collar and punch them in the face repeatedly.

everyone should follow the link and let them know what they think of this transphobic t-shirt.

In which I tell you the story of how I managed to break almost every traffic law at once.

So I was browsing some “Christian” website, and found a powerpoint titled “Homo Sex is a Choice and a Sin”, so of course I couldn’t resist looking. It reminds me of those shitty powerpoints that people on tumblr make to look ridiculous. The only difference is that the person who made this is serious.

Because Pokemon shouldn’t force you to pick a gender you may not associate with.

Oh, just STOP WITH THIS. Do you know how complicated it would be if the game designers had to account for all of the different identity options and every single person’s beliefs or lifestyles? What would the character even look like? Would you have to design your own? What if you wear a hijab? What if you’re in a wheelchair? What if you’re black? There are 1000000 factors where people aren’t properly represented in ANY game. Wanna know why? When you’re playing, it doesn’t have to represent YOU directly. I’ve played as a male and female multiple times. It’s roleplaying. The character doesn’t physically resemble MOST of the people who play. Grow the fuck up, or go to school for game development and make a difference instead of whining on Tumblr and demonizing fucking Pokemon.

I LOVE YOU

thank god there are some people with sense left on this website.

Fucking thank you.

this.

I’m pretty sure that if game makers can create a successful fantasy game franchise about a mouse who shoots lightning out of its ass, they can manage to create customizable avatars. I’ve played flash games on online arcades with the option to design my own character, would it really be that challenging for such a popular, well-funded video game to do that? I haven’t played pokemon in awhile, but if I remember correctly, the dialogue about your character isn’t gendered anyways so the gender you pick is irrelevant to your gaming experience. The only reason the boy/girl question is asked is to give the player an avatar, so if the game makers simply asked your name and provided a wide variety of avatar customizations this wouldn’t be a problem. Gender neutral language doesn’t really harm gendered players, and it would probably be more comfortable for non-gendered players. And yeah, I get it, this is “SERIOUS ROLEPLAYING INTENDED FOR ADOLESCENTS AND UP, WHY DO YOU HAVE TO MAKE EVERYTHING SO PC, YOU’RE RUINING MY GAMING EXPERIENCE!?!!!1!?!?!?” I don’t see how someone not on the gender binary wanting representation is “demonizing pokemon” and I feel like you’re making way bigger of an issue out of this than needed. Providing more options for underrepresented groups doesn’t take away from people in overrepresented groups since the overrepresented group will always be represented. Anyone else notice you can only be white in Animal Crossing, a game where pretty much the whole point is having a customizable life? You can change how your town looks, you can change how your house looks, you can change your hair, design your own clothes, make your own constellations, but you can’t change your character’s skin tone to match your own? There’s nothing inherently bad about gaming or roleplaying as something that you’re not, but this becomes a little problematic when you can’t be anything other than normalized identities.
